What Our Customers Say About Clearset's Portable Sanitation Services
What Is Sewer Camera Scoping?
Sewer camera scoping uses a high-resolution, waterproof camera system (often called a sewer camera or drain camera) to inspect your pipes from the inside. This allows us to locate:
- Cracks, leaks, and corrosion
- Blockages or root intrusion
- Collapsed or shifted pipes
- Improper installations or bellies
- Entry/exit points in complex systems
All inspections are recorded and mapped, and we provide clear documentation and reporting.
Why Use Line Scoping?
- No digging required – see inside your pipes without excavation
- Pinpoint accuracy – know the exact location of issues
- Prevent costly surprises – especially before real estate purchases or major renos
- Quick diagnostics – ideal for backup, slow drains, or recurring clogs
- Supports compliance – for municipalities or permitting

Before You Dig—or Buy—Scope the Line
Not using a sewer camera inspection can cost you—literally. Without a proper scope, hidden issues underground go unnoticed until it’s too late.
Here’s what can happen:
- Undetected root intrusion can cause full blockages or pipe collapse
- Cracks or leaks in older pipes can cause erosion, flooding, or foundation issues
- Contracting or excavating? Digging without a scope risks hitting broken or misaligned lines
- Shifting or sagging lines (called “bellies”) can trap waste and lead to backups
- Buying a home? A hidden sewer issue could cost $10K+ in repairs after closing
A quick scope now can save you from major repairs, insurance claims, and project delays later.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Sewer Line Inspection Service (FAQs)
How deep can you see into the pipes?
We can scope most residential and commercial systems from the access point to the city connection, depending on cleanout access and layout.
Do I get a copy of the footage?
Yes—video footage can be provided upon request, along with verbal or written summaries.
Is this the same as a drain snake?
No. A drain snake clears blockages. A sewer camera is used to inspect the condition and location of the pipes without disrupting anything.
How long does the inspection take?
Most inspections take 30–60 minutes. Larger properties or complex systems may take longer.
Can you locate the exact problem spot?
Yes. Our equipment allows us to mark surface locations and depths with precision.
Do you offer scoping for emergency situations?
Yes. If you’re dealing with backup, overflow, or an urgent drainage issue, we’ll prioritize your appointment.
